What we do
The Medical/Surgical Unit has a variety of services for general medical conditions and provides post-operative care. The ward is always staffed by Registered and Enrolled nurses.
Who this service is for
This service is for you if you require public hospital care under the Medicare Agreement or are a private patient.
If you are a patient with an acute medical condition, you can be admitted to the ward by General Medical Practitioners with approved in-patient admission rights. The admission process is organised by the Nurse Manager, or the person deputising in the position. Admission is dependent upon bed availability.
The cost to you is either through the Medicare Agreement if you are a public patient or by private health insurance cover.
Referrals
You can be referred by a Medical Practitioner or transferred from another hospital.
