Cardiac Outpatient Rehabilitation Services

Find out about our rehabilitation programs for Cardiac rehabilitation and heart failure rehabilitation at our Sunshine and Williamstown locations.

What we do

Our Cardiac Rehabilitation programs are located within the Specialised Rehabilitation Program centres at Sunshine Hospital and Williamstown Hospital. They are an important part of long-term care if you are someone with heart problems. Heart problems include heart attack, angioplasty/stent and heart surgery.

Our Sunshine Hospital also provides Chronic Heart Failure (CHF) Rehabilitation. CHF is the inability of the heart to supply enough blood flow to the body.

If you have heart disease, both these programs help you learn more about your condition, how to manage it and how to reduce the risk of further problems.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Program Timetable

Cardiac Rehabilitation runs once a week for 6 weeks.

Heart failure rehabilitation runs twice a week for 8 weeks. Each education session is run by Allied Health professionals and includes information about:

  • nutrition
  • exercise
  • heart disease
  • stress management
  • activities of daily living (for example activities completed during everyday life)
