Referrals

We accept most referral request forms. We prioritise Western Health patients and triage based on clinical urgency.

Medical imaging results for external referrals may take up to 2–3 weeks to become available. We can also send an electronic copy of your report and images directly to your referrer’s practice, via Healthlink, if they have this function.

What to bring to hospital

If you are coming to hospital for X-rays or scans, please bring:

  • any prior radiology imaging that is relevant to the examination on a CD or USB, or a paper copy of the report, or call us prior as we might be able to retrieve your images electronically
  • your Medicare card and DVA health care card, if eligible
  • the request form for the examination if it was booked over the phone
  • your claim number if the examination relates to a TAC or WorkCover incident.
