What we do
Western Health is a partner agency in two Orange Door regions – Western Melbourne and Brimbank Melton. Western Health Orange Door staff are a part of Western Health’s specialist family violence program area.
The Orange Door is a free and confidential access point for services that support adults experiencing family violence, adults using family violence, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence, and families who need extra support with the care of children.
We work with you to understand your situation, keep you and your children safe, and connect you with the right supports.
Services and Facilities
At The Orange Door, you can access:
• Help for adults, children and young people experiencing family violence
• Support for families who need assistance with children’s wellbeing
• Programs for people who use violence, to support them to change their behaviour
• Practical support – information, safety planning, risk assessment, and connection to services
• Culturally safe support for Aboriginal people and communities
• Interpreters and accessibility support where needed.
You can speak with a practitioner in person, or over the phone.
Who this service is for
The Orange Door covers all areas within Western Melbourne and Brimbank Melton regions. The service is for:
• Anyone experiencing family violence
• Children or young people who may be unsafe, at risk, or in need of support
• Families needing help with parenting, relationships, or wellbeing
• People who use violence and want to change their behaviour
• People seeking help to change their use of violence and build safer relationships
• Friends, family members, or professionals worried about someone’s safety

Referrals
You do not need a referral – you can contact us directly.
Professionals can also make a referral on your behalf if you give consent (or without consent if there is an immediate safety risk).
