Western Health pathology services are delivered by Dorevitch Pathology, providing high-quality diagnostic testing to support patient care and treatment decisions.
Testing is available across all Western Health campuses and includes routine and urgent services for inpatients and outpatients.
What we do
Pathology services include:
- blood and urine tests
- tissue and cytology analysis
- microbiology and infectious disease testing
- genetic and molecular testing
- pathology collection and specimen handling
- rapid response for critical care and emergency cases.
Our pathology teams work closely with clinicians to ensure fast and accurate results that inform diagnosis, monitoring and treatment.

Dorevitch Pathology operates at the following Western Health sites:
- Sunshine Hospital
- Footscray Hospital
- Williamstown Hospital
- Bacchus Marsh and Melton
- Sunbury Day Hospital.
Collection centres and onsite laboratories support timely results for both hospital and referred patients.
