Teaching, education and research

Our Gynaecology Unit contributes to the Western Clinical School's structured teaching program and helps undergraduate students within the clinical environment.

Teaching and education

We are a teaching hospital affiliated with University of Melbourne. As part of the Western Clinical School, our Gynaecology Unit contributes to the structured teaching program and helps undergraduate students immerse within the clinical environment.

The Gynaecology Unit and Western Health are also accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), as a training hospital. Specialist training is a 6-year program and our trainee obstetric and gynaecology doctors (registrars) spend time and gain clinical experience at Western Health as part of their core and advanced training pathways.
