What we do
The Virtual Fracture Clinic offers safe and timely care for patients after a fracture or soft tissue injury. The clinic is Australia’s first physiotherapy-led Virtual Fracture Clinic.
How it works
A specialist physiotherapist will review the case of each patient referred to the virtual fracture clinic with the support of an orthopaedic surgeon.
You will be given a plan for further treatment by phone or video consultation. An in-person appointment may be offered for more complex injuries.
Who this service is for
Adults and children.
Referrals
You may be referred to us in 2 ways:
Referral by the Western Health Emergency Department: If you visit the Western Health Emergency Department, you’ll be referred to the Virtual Fracture Clinic by staff. Expect a call within 4 days of the referral after your visit.
Referral by general practitioners and external providers: They can refer you to the Fracture Clinic for an orthopaedic opinion. You may be treated virtually if needed
Note: Minor soft tissue injuries usually don't need a referral. These typically heal on their own and can be managed by a general practitioner.
