The generosity of Melbourne's Chinese community knows no bounds, with over 450 guests from across Melbourne coming together on Friday 28 June to raise $153,000 (and counting!) in support of the Joan Kirner Women's and Children's at Sunshine Hospital.

A generous donation of $5000 from the Yarraville Lodge, a member lodge of Freemasons Victoria, will support women in Melbourne's west undergoing breast cancer treatment through Western Health's BreastWest program.

The Vietnamese Community in Melbourne's western suburbs have come together to raise funds for the new Joan Kirner Women's and Children's at Sunshine Hospital.

Colourful commemorative artworks inspired by the work and legacy of The Hon Joan Kirner AC were unveiled at the new Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital on October 9 by the Minister for Health, The Hon Jill Hennessy, alongside Mrs Kirner's husband Ron Kirner.

Two Western Health oncologists – and hundreds of Footscray Hospital patients – have contributed to a global breakthrough in cancer research.

This year's BreastWest Night of Nights raised $85,000 towards patient support. Held on Thursday 26 July at the Moonee Valley Racing Club, the event attracted 550 guests with tickets sold well in advance.
