Western Health Learning Academy
Overview
The Western Health Learning Academy provides high-quality education and training to support the ongoing development of our workforce.
Our programs are designed to enhance clinical and non-clinical capabilities, build leadership capacity, and support the safe, person-centred care we deliver across our health service. The Academy works in partnership with clinical teams, external education providers and government agencies to ensure our education offering is current, relevant and accessible.
Who we support
The Learning Academy delivers training and development to:
- nursing and midwifery staff
- medical and allied health professionals
- administrative, support and non-clinical teams
- students and graduates on placement at Western Health.
Programs and offerings
We provide a broad range of education programs to support professional development, career progression and compliance with mandatory training requirements.
Our programs include:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health study days
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) training
- basic assessment and support in intensive care
- Central Venous Access Devices (CVAD) workshops
- hand hygiene general auditor training
- mental health first aid
- study days.
