What to expect when attending an Adult Specialist Clinics (Outpatient) appointment
- When you arrive a staff member will check your details and make sure they are right.
- You will be given an Outcome form to give to the doctor when you see them.
- Depending on the clinic you may need to have an x-ray before you see the doctor.
- When your appointment is finished the doctor will give you the Outcome form back. You must give this form to the reception or rebooking desk. This is to make sure we organise the right follow up.
You may experience long waiting times whilst in the department. We recommend that you:
- Allow for child care
- Allow for parking
- Bring something to occupy your time – for example a book or magazine
- Bring a snack
Note: If at any time during your wait you feel unwell please tell the nurses.
