What we do
Day Medical provides you with same-day in-patient service for the administration of:
- chemotherapy as prescribed by our oncologist
- blood and blood products as prescribed by our haematologists
- other treatments that can safely be infused in a day setting.
Our service is staffed by oncologists, haematologists and registered nurses trained in the administration of cytotoxic agents. The unit is also supported by allied health staff and patient services assistants employed at Melton Health.
There is zero cost for this service.
Who this service is for
This service is for you if you require infusions and transfusions that can be safely given in a day setting.
Referrals
All referrals are accepted by an internal Western Health medical stream.
Please note: Day Medical at Melton does not accept GP referrals for iron infusions.
