Maternity Assessment Centre (MAC) is staffed by midwives who work collaboratively with medical staff to care for you, and monitor your baby's health.
Where to find this service
Maternity Assessment Centre is both an inpatient and outpatient unit, providing assessment and monitoring:
- For labour assessments
- If your waters have broken
- If your baby movements have reduced
- For planned surveillance due to obstetric reasons such as multiple pregnancy
- Of medical conditions such as high blood pressure
- If you require an Iron Infusion
- If you require monitoring when your pregnancy is overdue
- If you are planned for an induction of labour
- To review of any pregnancy concerns
