Junior Medical Staff Recruitment

Some positions are still available for this year for HMOs in our Surgical and General HMO streams, with a variety of rotations available.

Please email our Medical Workforce Unit if you wish to apply for a 2025 Surgical or General HMO position commencing this year, with your CV and cover letter attached.

Full-time appointments for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months are preferred, but part-time and job-share arrangements will be considered for suitable applicants in some rotations.

Please note, applicants must have either full General Registration with AHPRA or be an International Medical Graduate (IMG) eligible for the competent authority pathway (e.g UK and Irish IMGs), to apply. Standard pathway IMGs are not eligible for consideration at this time.

You also might be aware that the PMCV have implemented a new National Framework for Prevocational Medical Training (NFPMT) for PGY2 doctors. The changes to the framework mean that there will no longer be ‘streaming’ for PGY2 HMOs from 2025, although BPT1 in the PGY2 year is exempt. PGY2 HMOs will still be able to preference rotations in their areas of career interest. For further information on the NFPMT for PGY2 doctors, please ensure you are familiar with the information on the PMCV website.
