Staff benefits

Western Health offers a wide range of employee benefits including salary packaging, flexible work options, professional development, wellbeing programs and staff recognition awards.

At Western Health, we value our people – and we’re proud to offer a wide range of benefits to support your wellbeing, professional growth and work-life balance. We also partner with trusted organisations to give our employees access to discounts on goods and services.

Salary packaging

All Western Health employees can access salary packaging, a tax-effective way to increase your take-home pay. You can nominate certain living expenses (like mortgage, rent or credit card payments) to be paid from your pre-tax income, which may reduce the tax you pay.

You can package:

  • up to $9,010 tax-free on eligible expenses (amounting up to 80% of salary)
  • an additional $2,650 per year for meal entertainment.

Salary packaging is available to full-time, part-time and casual staff.

Career and professional development

We’re committed to helping you reach your full potential. Western Health provides clear development pathways and supports lifelong learning through a variety of education programs.

You’ll have access to:

  • clinical education programs
  • leadership training
  • postgraduate study
  • scholarships for nurses and midwives
  • computer training
  • on-site Registered Training Organisation (RTO) courses.
